Proofreading & Editing Certificate:

Proofreading consists of reading through work and checking the accuracy of the following areas:

• Spelling;
• Grammar;
• Punctuation;
• Readability;
• Layout;
• Consistency (page numbers, headings, etc);
• Correct capitalisation;

Proofs are edited on-screen using tracking to highlight any changes made.

In addition, a style sheet will be attached to explain any standardisation used throughout (e.g. date styles, numbering, specific spellings, etc.). Any queries or editor's suggestion will be clearly marked, either on the style sheet or within the edited document, as appropriate.

In all cases, we securely back up your original document to a separate file.

IMPORTANT: Always ensure that you keep a copy of any work submitted, be it on disk or hard copy - preferably both!
