Copy-editing is more involved than proofreading. Alongside marking up text in the usual way, it involves extra liaising with the client over content.

There may be some rewriting involved (e.g. to fit house style or ensure that the copy reads well). There may even be the need for researching and writing of additional material. We will liaise with the author over diagrams, illustrations, etc. and check whether any material could be construed as libellous.

Copy-editing covers a wide range of responsibilities so we will always have full contact with our clients to discuss any special requirements.
